On May 11, 2026, Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi hosted a working session and signing ceremony with the Czech medical AI company Carebot and AIMED Vietnam, a company within VPV Group. The agreement focuses on AI-assisted lung cancer screening and early detection, with a pilot planned for integrating Carebot’s software into the hospital’s PACS system.
The project is a healthcare deployment story, not just a market-entry announcement. It brings together three roles that have to work at the same time: Carebot as the technology developer, AIMED Vietnam as the local healthcare partner, and Bach Mai Hospital as the clinical institution where the pilot can be tested in practice.
A Hospital-Level Starting Point
Bach Mai Hospital is one of the most important medical institutions in Vietnam and a strong starting point for a project of this kind. The hospital has identified artificial intelligence and big data analytics as one of six strategic directions in its development plan.
According to Bach Mai Hospital, the agreement covers piloting, PACS integration, user training, technical setup, and operational support. These details matter because medical AI does not create value through a presentation alone. It has to fit into hospital systems, workflows, and clinical routines.
Bach Mai Hospital also stated that any AI solution used in its environment must comply with Vietnamese requirements on data security and patient privacy. In healthcare, that condition is not a secondary technical issue. It is part of whether the technology can be trusted at all.
Carebot Provides The Medical AI
Carebot develops AI software for medical imaging, including chest X-ray analysis, fracture detection, mammography, and selected CT applications. In Vietnam, the focus presented at Bach Mai Hospital was early lung cancer detection through X-ray and CT imaging.
The software is designed to support doctors, not replace them. Its role is to help clinicians review imaging data more efficiently, flag suspicious findings, and reduce the risk that relevant signs are missed in routine workflow.
Bach Mai Hospital reported that pilot use of Carebot in nine hospitals in the Czech Republic showed the system’s ability to identify early-stage malignant lung lesions that had previously gone undetected. That clinical experience gives the Vietnam pilot a concrete basis beyond a standard technology introduction.
AIMED Vietnam Connects The Local System
AIMED Vietnam supports the local side of the project: hospital access, coordination with medical and technical teams, deployment support, and the adaptation of a European solution to Vietnamese healthcare requirements.
This role is practical. A strong medical software product still needs local structure before it can be tested properly in a new market. Hospitals need technical coordination, user training, data-protection alignment, and operational support after the first meeting.
